1901 – 1954
Philadelphia Athletics
The franchise was founded as a charter member of the new American League and spent its first 54 seasons in Philadelphia under manager-owner Connie Mack.

Kansas City Athletics

1968 – 2024
Oakland Athletics
The Athletics moved to Oakland, California, for the 1968 season and stayed for 57 years, the longest run in any single city in franchise history.

- The Swingin' A's of the early 1970s won three consecutive World Series.
